    Ian Desmond signs 1 year $8,000,000 with Rangers.

    SPRO Analysis - Texas gets bargain in Desmond. One of those odd cases with the QA, at first, being offered when it shouldn't, but working out for Washington in the end. SPRO 1 year $11,553,000. Though Desmond really should have gotten more than one year.

    Kolton Wong signs 5 year $25,500,000 with Cardinals.

    SPRO Analysis - St. Louis overpays for Wong. Boy, that's a tough call, because the numbers may prove fine. But we're not a fan of going this far out with good, but marginal talent, after 2 years of service time. The percentage of deals like this that work out isn't high enough for us. SPRO 2 years $3,135,000.

    Salvador Perez signs 5 year $52,500,000 with Royals.

    SPRO Analysis - Kansas City pays market value for Perez. This deal added three years to his current and is right on the money for the money per year. We're uncomfortable with the fifth year. SPRO 4 years $41,672,000.

    Dexter Fowler signs 1 year $8,000,000 with Cubs, including option for 2nd year at $9m with $5m buyout.

    SPRO Analysis - Chicago Cubs pay market value for Fowler. So essentially he's getting a one year deal for $13m or a 2 year deal for $17m. Okay, a bit high for one, a bit low for two. SPRO 2 years $20,826,000.
